Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a co-ed tournament?

All genders are welcome to play. There is no requirement that your team must include different genders, but you are more than welcome to have women, men, or otherwise on your team.

Can I register by myself?

You can send an email or call to sign up as a free agent. Ball to Vote will try to place you on a team, or create a free agent’s team for the tournament if there is space. You will be contacted if a team has been found for you.

What if I am ineligible to register to vote?

You can still enter if someone else registers to vote in your place. We understand that some Lowellians are ineligible to register to vote, however, to meet our goals, we are asking that you bring in a friend or family member that is able to register to vote.

What if I am already registered to vote?

You can still play in the tournament once we verify that you are registered to vote. You will still need to bring a form of identification so that we may verify your voter registration status through the Massachusetts database of voters.

Can I play if I am 15?

No. You must be at least 16 years old by September 28th, 2019 to enter the tournament. Any person born after September 28th, 2003 is ineligible to enter this tournament. If you are under 18 you will need to have a waiver signed by a parent/guardian to enter the tournament. Download to print here.

DO I really have to be from Lowell?

Yes. You’ll need to bring in proof of Lowell residence. Documents must have your name and address on them. Qualifying documents may be a license, state ID, utilities bill (ex: phone bill), or Lowell High School ID for those 18 and under.

What Time should I actually show up?

11 AM. Registration opens at 11. Any teams not registered by 11:50 AM will not be entered into the tournament.
